Gorilla tracking tour - Bwindi
Tracking Mountain Gorilla Tour in Uganda is the main activity in Bwindi impenetrable forest national park, a habitat of close to half of the remaining Gorillas in the whole world that is why the government of Uganda saw it fit to habituate these endangered species to prevent their extinction.
Gorilla tracking tour was introduced to facilitate and support the protection of these gentle giants, whereby tourists pay a fee to go trekking peacefully and view these species in their protected wild group family habitat. Gorilla Trek safaris in Uganda usually begins from Kampala /Entebbe depending on where you spent the night or reside after arrival into the country, usually through Entebbe International Airport.
After the pick up from the airport and refreshments, you are briefed about the Gorilla safari by our driver guide and the office tour manager. The trip breakdown is as below;
DAY 1: Kampala – Bwindi Gorilla Park
As per the briefing a day before, you are picked from the hotel/place of residence at exactly 6:30am after your breakfast so as to avoid the early morning traffic jam in Kampala. The trip starts, traveling south-westwards through the districts of Wakiso, Mpigi, Masaka while viewing the local livelihoods of the communities in the central region of Uganda. Then connect to Mbarara where you make a stopover for lunch at Agip Motel/Igongo Cultural Center.
After lunch proceeds to Bwindi through the districts of Bushenyi, through the southern section of Queen Elizabeth National Park and if lucky you could see the Tree Climbing Lions, and other big game such as Elephants, Topis, and Buffaloes.
Continue with views of the magnificent greenery and the rolling hills of Kigezi and finally, Kanungu district connecting to Buhoma which is part of the Bwindi Forest. Arriving in Bwindi at around 5:30pm for check in at your reserved lodge . Dinner and Overnight.

DAY 2: Gorilla Tracking Tour in Bwindi Forest
Wake up very early in the morning, at 6:00 am for breakfast and then proceed to the gorilla tracking tour briefing point, to be briefed about the safety guidelines and be allocated guides and groups for tracking. Setting off is at exactly 8:00 am, the ranger guides make sure everyone has packed lunch, enough drinking water, comfortable safe shoes, and a porter for the backpack with a walking stick before the takeoff.
Gorilla trek is one of the most extraordinary, astonishing activities you will ever enjoy. Observing and photographing the gentle giants(mountain gorillas) is so awe-inspiring! Be prepared as Trek of the Gorillas may take 1 hr to a full day depending on where your gorilla group last fed on. After the tracking, return to the lodge and have a relaxed evening/ a walk to the pygmy families in the outskirts of the forest, dinner and overnight at the lodge.

DAY 3: Bwindi – Kampala/Entebbe
Have breakfast and thereafter embark on the return trip back to Kampala/Entebbe. Lunch en-route at Agip Motel/Igongo Cultural Centre. Then a second stop over at the Uganda equator for souvenirs and leg stretching and view a few facts about the equator, and finally, proceed to the final leg of the trip/drop off at the airport for the return flight back home.
(Dinner with office tour manager before boarding return flight).

NOTE: You may add a night on lake Bunyonyi after tracking on day 2 where canoeing can be done before proceeding to Kampala in the morning of day 3.
